SMOKERS BEWARE

In September 2015, the city of Paris started issuing fines of €68 to anyone responsible for dropping cigarette butts (mégots) in the street. To encourage smokers to get into the habit of disposing of butts responsibly before the fines come into force, the city is installing 10,000 ashtrays across the city.
